Traveling and getting acquainted with the wide variety of cultures that the world has, is, of course, one of the best experiences that a person can have in his lifetime. And among all the other things i.e. history, art, ancient monuments, museums, etc. an important part of any culture that contributes to its uniqueness is, undoubtedly, its food.

There are so many different, interesting and exotic dishes unique of a given culture that only by visiting the country representing it you’ll be able to taste them in their most genuine state. Good food is one of the main things that remains in the memory of most tourists and if you are food lover, then it’s the first thing you should consider when choosing a new travel destination.

Below we introduce you our food reviews that will hopefully be the best guide in helping you choose a travel location that offers the tastiest dishes spiced with local culture and traditions.

So here is to all the true foodies out there:

1. Buenos Aires, Argentina

Another main reason for heading to Argentina, apart from it being the birthplace of tango, can be its delicious food.

Though the capital city didn't use to be very popular among foodies, however, recently it has become one of the top places for finding the best food and drinks. Here you can find quality grass-fed beef and wines brought from Salta and Patagonia. Above all, the new generation of chefs will introduce you the Argentinian traditional dishes from a different "perspective."

Worth mentioning are the street dishes which will leave their taste in your mouth forever. Some of them are the famous choripan which is a chorizo sausage on a sandwich spiced with the so called chimichurri sauce, as well as the extremely delicious empanadas.

ShaunaShauna O' Brien made a name for herself as a model and actress, but she's a one kickass mom now that grows her own organic vegetable garden with such style and flair and we are lucky she's sharing some of her recipes too!

Shauna you were raised on a farm and grew up with several brothers, so is it safe to say you are can compete with the best of them at most sports?
Oh yes! One great thing about growing up on a farm with so many brothers is that it definitely toughens a girl up! I can be very physically competitive. When I was a teenager I raced snowmobiles regularly and oftentimes I would be stuck in the guys class because there weren't enough girls in the girls class. I remember the guys smirking at me in the drivers meetings beforehand like I didn't have a chance. Well I regularly wiped the smirk right off their faces because I usually ended up beating them!!

nancy3Nancy O'Brien is the picture of health or so she thought until she was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer on New Year's Eve. We are so happy she was willing to share her journey through that with us here.

Nancy we’ve known each other a while and you have always been so athletic and such the picture of health, then a shocking crisis happened recently, please share with us what that was and how you felt hearing this news?
No one was more shocked than me when I received a phone call from my endocrinologist late in the afternoon on December 31, 2013, telling me that I had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I didn’t know how to process the information. My doctor seemed so matter of fact over the phone, like she was a customer service representative reading from a script! She told me what “category” it was in but that didn’t make any sense to me. I asked her what stage the cancer was in and she said she didn’t know. “Why didn’t she know,” I asked myself? I didn’t hear any compassion in her voice, just a list of what I needed to do next. She said I needed to schedule surgery soon, and that I would need to receive radioactive iodine after the surgery.

woman1Want to know what my life is like since my hysterectomy?

I shared my personal struggle with my health crisis last year when I underwent a hysterectomy due to a potential ovarian cancer scare. I had been suffering for years through pre menopausal symptoms and

was taking bio-identical hormones to help rectify my pain. It became apparent that I could no longer avoid surgery and it turned out to be the best thing I’ve ever done.

My recovery took a good six weeks to start feeling somewhat normal again. I had relatively no pain and chose to not take pain pills for longer than a couple days once I was home. I quickly began to move around as much as possible to avoid gas pains and increase my mobility.

Nancy I know you are defying age with what you are doing health wise. Tell us some of your secrets?
Thank you! I was always called the "Nap Queen" by my friends, I craved sugar, and found I was doing a lot of yo-yo dieting to stay at my goal weight. I skeptically tried a program my friend was doing and got excited. I lost 9 pounds in 9 days, went on to lose 15. I've been on the products consistently for 4 years and my energy is great throughout the day, my weight is easy to sustain and I never think about sugar. I learned that our food does not contain the nutrients it did in years past, and that toxins are disrupting our metabolism. I became passionate about educating others and partnered with the company. Everyone needs to be doing something to combat these problems. PeggyPeggy Tanous made a splash on the "Housewives of Orange County" and now has a fitness video out to share how she keeps her gorgeous figure.

Peggy you were a regular on the Housewives of Orange County, tell us how that reality show changed your life?
Yes, I was one of the stars on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 6 and part of season 7! I started in the business around ten years old acting and then started modeling around age 15. I then moved into hosting. Before having my two girls I was hosting two of my own lifestyle shows in OC. Once my daughter London was born I quit working to be a full time mommy. After having my two girls and going through post Partum depression I was really missing working, so when housewives approached me I thought it was the perfect way to get back into the business. Little did I know how big the housewives franchise had become. Here I had worked most my life in the entertainment business without much recognition, but once on housewives I became an instant celebrity and could not go anywhere without being recognized. Not only has it changed my life in that regard, but it has also opened doors for me with other work, press, charities and people.

Natural Disasters recently have devastated Japan's food supply, is it getting worst?

There have been recent reports of many people suffering from symptoms such as, nose bleeds, nausea, dizziness and rashes in Japan due to the radiation poisoning from the Fukushima leak. Many of these people are young and these reports are being covered up and not talked about. Think about it? How could there not be effects from such a massive amount of damage? The waters have been toxic from three reactors that melted down after the tsunami damaged them. It was discovered that over 300 tons of highly radioactive water had leaked from that disaster.

Sharon Tay has been a journalist and on air news anchor for many years in Los Angeles, find out some of her secrets for staying healthy and camera ready.

Sharon you have been an inspiration to me for years. Have you always aspired to be a journalist?
I have always been inspired to be a tv journalist. Not because of the profile nature of the career .. but the behind the scenes aspect of tv news. From the story telling to the production aspects. I've learned so much from the people of stories we tell, and those who I have worked with over the years.

DevinThere are many types of hysterectomies and many women facing the choice to do them or not. I am one of those women, are you?

I've been having my battles lately with heavy period bleeding and since I've been on bio identical hormones the pain and heaviness associated with my periods have lessened or so I thought. I was getting concerned about all the spotting between periods and having multiple periods a month. Seems I was bleeding more than not bleeding and decided to get checked throughly. My OBGYN suggested a uterine biopsy and ultra sounds to see why I was bleeding so much. Fibroids are a cause for heavy bleeding and common with many women. I was no exception since I had a fibroid the size of a small plum in my uterus. Then there was frequent urination, seems I lived in the bathroom. I was determined to find out a solution to this problem I had now been facing for nearly five years.

Keri, you have an interesting approach to balancing your mind, body and soul regarding food. Tell us what inspired that concept and how effective is it in helping with weight loss?
Keri NolaThank you so much, Devin. In my experience, as a culture, our approach to wellness has often been narrow and limited and my own struggles and frustrations led me to get curious about the missing pieces to living a life I love in a body I love living in. Through the years, I witnessed myself and others be able to make progress with wellness goals in the short term while struggling to maintain them on a consistent basis and this motivated me to dig deeper to discover the missing piece of the puzzle. I ultimately discovered that we are more than our physical bodies and therefore heaviness in our bodies and lives is simply a manifestation of unexplored feelings, experiences, and information asking for our attention. Our Go Deeper, Get Lighter programs address wellness from the inside out as we support people in exploring the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of getting lighter by going deeper into issues of the mind, body, and soul often left out in traditional diet and exercise programs. Using a combination of powerful healing techniques blended with practical tools to easily implement unique nutrition and exercise solutions that work, Go Deeper, Get Lighter is a dynamic personal transformation program.

Are you suffering from Bulimia or Anorexia? You are not alone and can overcome this disease.eating-disorders-58867182085 xlarge

Many women suffer from anorexia or bulimia, and with knowledge, this disease can be handled. I believe many of the symptoms surrounding these eating disorders stem from our society’s views of what women should look like. We see this through advertising in magazine ads and on television.

Many women have low self- esteem when it comes to their bodies and we think we have to be stick thin like the waif like models we see in ads. But, not even those models look like that. So these eating disorders can be psychological, biological or environmental.

Are you dealing with weight gain, irritability, heavy period bleeding, sleepless nights or low sex drive? Do you feel like you are just not your old self? You could be peri menopausal and there is help for you!

images-1If you are over 40 and having symptoms such as feeling tired suddenly in the middle of day, not sleeping throughout the night, or gaining weight in places that you never did before, you could be peri menopausal. I've been fairly blessed with good health most of my life and thank God few trips to the hospital. So after I entered my 40s I noticed some changes in my body and my health that I just didn't understand. I felt that I was taking pretty good care of myself, I mean I was exercising a few days a week, drinking as much water as I possibly could and eating healthy, so why didn't I feel so great? Why did it seem like I was gaining weight? And why wasn't I sleeping well? I just couldn't understand what was happening at first to my body.

Cancer is a dreaded and deadly disease that is killing millions of women each year. Breast cancer took my mother at age 50 and since then I have had annual mammograms each and every year because early prevention is the key. However Ovarian cancer is harder to detect and cure and many women are losing their battle to this disease each year.

When I heard that Pierce Bronson's daughter recently died of ovarian cancerCharlotte at the tender age of 43, the same disease that also took her mother around the same age, I felt compelled to write about this and feature it here for women to take notice. It struck a cord in my inner being because my own mother was taken from me at age 50 of breast cancer and I too have always had that number in back of my mind as a number to fear. I thought about Charlotte and how she must have wondered constantly about her mother's loss in her 40s. However, I chose to embrace the number 50 and celebrate instead of feeding it with fear. This is part of what inspired me to create woman to woman. Most women have a higher chance of getting either breast cancer or ovarian cancer after the age of 50. In fact, one out of every 8 women will get it and the chances are higher if a parent or sibling has died of it.

Kelly Emberg needs no introduction, you've seen her face many times all over fashion magazines and ads. However, Kelly Emberg is so much more than just a pretty face as you will see in this interview. She is one dynamic woman with many talents and a woman I've admired for many years. Thank you Kelly for sharing a bit of your beliefs with us!

new 08

Devin: Kelly you were a natural born supermodel literally and known for your athletic body and natural beauty. Tell us how instantly becoming a supermodel was for you at such a young age?

Kelly: I really wasn't prepared for the success I ended up having as a model. Looking back, I think it was my destiny to become a model since I didn't seek it out. So when I became a success and with that I mean, when my face was on the covers of fashion magazines, it was really strange. Growing up I thought my teeth were too large, my hair was stringy, and my calves were ridiculously over developed. I don't remember feeling particularly beautiful. All of the sudden I was on the covers of magazines with a makeup contract for Cover-girl and many other prestigious clients. In New York City, the magazine stands would hang up the new covers on it's roof's edge of the shed. When the new Glamour or Vogue was out they would put that particular cover up so there was a row of the same cover. When I saw that, I wanted disappear running across the street and around the corner. I think I just didn't want to look at it because it seemed so crazy that they had picked me to be on the cover. Deep down I realized that we are all the same in the end. There wasn't anything so special about me. I was lucky in the right place at the right time. There were a group of creative professionals, the best of the best, to make me look the way I did. I never felt it was all about me because if you don't have a great photographer, great makeup and hair and of course a talented stylist, the pictures just don't turn out that great.
